The first Cross Country League Race is fast approaching! 15th November at Newbold Comyn in Leamington.

From 5k to 100k, Kenilworth to Chicago, highlights

From 5k to 100k, Kenilworth to Chicago, highlights over the last month include:

Helen B ran her first Ultra of 50K in Bournemouth, racing to the sea through forest trails and coastal paths.

Jane K celebrated her birthday by running from the Sea to the Summit of Ben Nevis with over 6200ft of height gain along the way.

Adam H completed his first Back Yard Ultra, running 100km at the South West Lone Wolf.

On the Marathon front, Jan R and Rachel M travelled to America to run the Chicago Marathon and Daniel L ventured to Amsterdam.

Half marathon wise Neill B enjoyed a hot sunny Crete Half which sported a great atmosphere and free food at the end. Ryan and Haley ran the historic route filled Oxford Half and Shamira and Lucy M took in the sights of London at the Royal Parks Half.

The Cornbury Estate opened up its grounds to host a range of scenic challenging trail runs with beautiful views. Liz H ran the 10K and Sally H, Lisa S and Dan L ran the Half. Congratulations to Dan L who came 2nd.

Mark R continues his 10K survey with Burton on Trent 10k and 10 Alcester 10k. The Brighton 10k is next!

The Petzl Night Trail 10k saw Rob C and Allan M sporting the mandatory head torches around the grounds of Coombe Abbey, along with Lotta C who was 1st Woman and Joe C who was 2nd overall. Luke M came 2nd at Alcester 10k and Martin Dorrill won his age group at Bremen 10k.

Emma D and Tom H both competed in the Run Archery National Finals battling Storm Amy to make the Podium in their events with Emma 1st and Tom 3rd. The following week they competed in Paris at the European finals. Another Podium place for Emma in 2nd and top 20 finish for Tom H.

Lou A has been busy offering up pacing at the Oxford Half and the Launch event for the Slow Horses 5k in London.

We love the undulating ditty that is the Midlands Road Relays at Sutton Park.

30 Kenilworth Runners huddled together in a tent to take it in turns to run, support and eat cake. Great to have three women’s teams and three men’s teams there, with a mixture of first timers and many timers, all out to enjoy the team vibe and undulations that Sutton Parks 5k packs in.

Kenilworth Runners have been busy running at home and away, from 5k to 100k, Kenilworth to Sydney!

Highlights include:

Dave P was 2nd v75 at the Worcester Half and was selected to represent England at the 2026 home nations internationals.

Jan R added the Thetford Back Yard Ultra and the Mauerweglauf relay to her portfolio of ultra distance running challenges.

The Cardiff podium 5k yielded P.b.’s for Gavin K, Jack F, Mark H and Sam R.

Helen H came 5th in her age group at the 2 mile Swim Serpentine.

Steve G came 3rd at the 100k Pilgrims with 4700ft of height gain fun and rain to endure.

Shamira, Jag, Alan M and Sam N ran Berlin Marathon in unexpected temperatures rising to 28 degrees.

Melissa J and David C travelled to Australia to run the Sydney Marathon. Starting at 6:30am to get the advantage of a cool 8 degrees to run in.

Mark H came 3rd at the Mallory park 10k and added Stratford Half to his P.B. collection along with Jack F.

Tom H, not satisfied with being an outlaw at long distance triathlon in July is now also an Ironman Wales finisher!

Mark R continues his survey of 10k’s around the UK with Stratford and Norwich 10K’s.

Kerrie, Debbie S, Ian G, Sam and Stephen F all ran the Great North Run.

The club hosted the 25th Kenilworth Half and 3rd edition of the 5k. 130 marshals - the majority club members, cheered runners along the route. Pre race day our members also did a litter pick along the rural section of the route.

The Kenilworth Runners Women won the Balsall Common 10k WRRL team prize.

All this and more, alongside our club run staples throughout the week.
