Runners of the Month – Feb 2023

Lotta Crofts
Gemma Louise Joiner
Tom Haley

"Massive Kudos to our February Runners of the Month, Lotta Crofts, Gemma Louise Joiner & Tom Haley

As we enter International Women's Week we celebrate......

Lotta Crofts @Clare Lisa a KR U15 Youth, who the Coaches unanimously has rapidly improved this season, she’s demonstrated a strong training ethic and competed (and progressively improved) throughout the West Midland Young Athletes' XC League Series. I should also add that Lotta also went Sub 25 for 5K for the first time in Feb and then continually lowered that mark, with a blistering 21:49 @ Warwick Racecourse parkrun a couple of weeks ago to round out a superb Month and XC Season! ⚡️

Gemma Louise Joiner for throwing down a 1:44 Half Marathon @ Warwick, just 4 months postpartum and following a C-section! Gemma has been particularly inspiring, running through her pregnancy taking part in last year’s Sutton Park Relays, May Day 10K, and a split leg of the Hilly Hundred, with her partner Steve. Dedication & Determination, surely Amber Merilyn Joiner is a name to watch come through the ranks of Kenilworth Runners in the future, if she's anything like Mum 🤩

Special Mentions also goto our XC 22/23 Midland Women's XC League Division 1 Ever-Presents - Bella Doxey, Kerrie Flippance, Kelly Burnett Nicholl, Kara Wasley, Mary Scott. Mary, unfortunately, was injured for the last race in February, but still came along and support the team....and we all know she'll be back in full force soon and Jane Kidd who was unable to travel to Betley Court, as she had the honour of representing Scotland on that day.

Representing Boy Power for Feb, we congratulate Tom HaleyTom Haley, who’s shown continual improvement since joining the club last year and has been super consistent throughout the XC Season, closing out the season with his highest placing @ Abington Park. Well Done Tom 👏

And to complete our 22/23 XC Season, Special Mentions also goto Oliver Flippance, Ryan Baker, & Graham Birch our Ever-Presents in the Birmingham & District Invitation Cross Country League Division 1.

Yet again, inspiring Running by The Green Army 💚💚💚"
